These terms apply when you book a Parenting Posse antenatal course. The Parenting Posse is a trading name of James Harris, sole trader.

 

About our courses

The Parenting Posse provides group antenatal education for expectant parents. Our standard course consists of four face-to-face sessions and costs £289 per booking, covering the expectant parent and one partner or support person.

Courses provide general education about pregnancy, birth, feeding, newborn care and becoming a parent. They do not provide individual medical advice, diagnosis or clinical care and are not a substitute for advice from the healthcare professionals responsible for your care.

Course content is based on professional guidance and evidence considered current at the time of delivery. Guidance, evidence and local maternity services can change.

 

Booking and payment

Your place is confirmed once we have received payment and sent you confirmation by email.

Please check the dates, location and other booking information before paying and let us know promptly if anything in your confirmation is incorrect.

 

Cancellations and refunds

If you book online or by telephone, you will normally have a legal right to cancel your booking within 14 days of the day after your booking is made. If the course has not started, you will receive a full refund.

If you wish to cancel after this period, please tell us as soon as possible. Where we can fill your place, we will refund the course fee less any reasonable costs we have incurred as a result of your booking and cancellation. Where we cannot fill your place, we may retain an amount that reasonably reflects the loss caused by your cancellation.

We recognise that circumstances can change during pregnancy. If exceptional circumstances affect your ability to attend, please contact us and we will consider whether an appropriate alternative, such as transferring to a later course, is available.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

 

Missing a session

We encourage you to attend all four sessions because much of the course is interactive and involves learning with your group.

If one person included in your booking cannot attend, the other is very welcome to attend alone.

If you know you will miss a session, please tell us as early as possible. Depending on availability, we may be able to offer the equivalent session at another Parenting Posse location or during a later course. Alternative sessions cannot be guaranteed.

If this is not possible, you will still have the relevant course materials and can contact James with questions arising from the session.

Because our classes are interactive and involve other participants, sessions are not routinely recorded. Missing a session does not normally entitle you to a partial refund.

 

Changes or cancellation by us

Occasionally we may need to change a session time, date, venue or other arrangement. We will give you as much notice as reasonably possible and aim to minimise disruption.

Courses also need enough participants to provide the group experience for which they are designed. If we need to cancel a course before it begins, you can choose either a transfer to another suitable Parenting Posse course, where available, or a full refund.

If we make a significant change that means you can no longer reasonably attend, we will offer an appropriate alternative or refund.

 

Your health and accessibility

If you have concerns about your health, pregnancy or baby, please contact your maternity service or another appropriate healthcare professional. Parenting Posse sessions are educational and do not create a clinical relationship between you and James.

If you or your partner/support person has an accessibility requirement or needs a reasonable adjustment, please contact us as early as possible so we can discuss how we can support you.

 

Respecting your group

People may share personal experiences during classes. We ask everyone to treat other participants respectfully and not share another person's personal information or story outside the group without permission.

Any course WhatsApp group is optional. James is not normally a member of these groups.

We reserve the right to ask someone to leave if their behaviour is threatening, abusive, discriminatory or seriously disruptive.

 

Course materials

Parenting Posse course materials are provided for your personal use. They must not be reproduced, sold, published or used commercially without our permission.

 

Our responsibility to you

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill.

We are responsible for foreseeable loss caused by our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for clinical decisions made by you or by healthcare professionals involved in your care.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or affects your statutory consumer rights.

 

Privacy

We use your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Notice.

Information we send about your booking is separate from marketing communications. You can choose separately whether you would like to receive marketing from The Parenting Posse.
